I'm joining the world of cyberspace
Six months ago I didn't even know what a blog was...well, now after reading several from other adoptive parents I've met I decided to join the world of cyberspace. How often I'll blog I don't know but it is a way to share items of interest with friends and acquaintances.
Our darling daughter turned 3 on Tuesday. To think, two years ago she was living with foster parents in China and now she has been with us for what seems like forever. I cannot imagine our lives without her in it.
For those of you who don't know me or for those of you who want to learn more about me read on.
My name is Jackie. I am married to Adam and I have two beautiful children, a son who will be 24 in August and a daughter who just turned 3 who we adopted from China in September 2004. My son is a 2004 graduate of Otterbein College and is currently searching for a job he "can tolerate"...my daughter is in preschool. I work as a paralegal for a small law firm that represents creditors. I enjoy going after the deadbeats who don't pay their bills. I've been a paralegal since 1992 after having numerous jobs-preschool teacher, bank worker, waitress and many interesting temp jobs. I met Adam on match.com in January 2001 and we were married in May 2003. I have one brother who is 49 and a sister who will be 62. My parents both passed away in the fall of 2005, 7 weeks from each other. It was the most difficult 8 weeks of my life traveling 2 hours each way 2 x a week to visit my mom in hospice and then dealing with the unexpected death of my father and knowing she would be close behind.
I have many wonderful friends of all ages and all walks of life, many have been friends for 10 years or more. I enjoy listening to all kinds of music and like to watch indy movies when I can. Right now my life focuses on the 3 year old and trying to find time to spend with the 24 year old also. It's a difficult balancing act to work and be a wife and mother.
